Air France recently put on a rather special soirée for its partners in celebration of the airline’s legacy and future. The event featured a runway showcase of Air France’s flight crew uniforms, created by some of the hottest fashion designers, dating from the present day right back to the 1930’s and its first commercial flights. I was lucky enough to be invited along for the ride.
In essence of the high-life it was hosted at altitude at the top of the Millbank Tower, the tallest building in the City of Westminster, which boats stunning views across London. It was an evening of chocolate, champagne and gorgeous models; a winning combination if you ask me.
Felicia and I were lucky enough to get whisked backstage for a quick preview of the model’s outfits and to have a quick chat, although they were rather busy with guzzling champagne and pizza!
There were also some heavenly sweet things to nibble on by La Maison du chocolat, one of Paris’s top chocolatiers, enough to make anyone crave a trip to Paris for the chocolate alone. After indulging in a fair amount of champagne and chocolate the catwalk show got underway. Air France’s uniforms over the years have been designed by some of the hottest fashion designers in the world including Balenciaga and Christian Dior.
After the catwalk, there was more mingling and champagne. Of course we had to get a few snaps of the stunning view before we left.
It’s safe to say that Air France know how to put on a stylish event. Before we knew it, it was time to head home. I suppose you could say that the evening flew by…haha sorry I just couldn’t resist.
